Hey sorry that I didn't get a video up at all recently, Ive been pounded with homework and studying here in college. Matt DiMarco and myself (Matt Flood) are hoping to head up to Southwick for once last time this year. It's supposed to be 67 and sunny so we're hoping it won't be windy and the beach will be nice. I'll bring my harddrive home and make that teaser this weekend too. Look out.

Heres a quick little example showing why im not the editor of our group. Nothing like matts work just some fun little clips from a walmart parking lot skim session... Nothing outta the ordinary right? so any ways we got like 8 inches of rain in two days and this was our outcome. Filming by Nick Grosso.

So the competition went well. We had 10 kids competing. The lake was choppy so the sandbar we were skimming was varying in depth so it was a little trickier for the riders. It made the flatland portion of the not as fun as the rails. Once we brought out the Barney set up everyone started to step it up. We had Arick and Von throwing shuvs to the down bar and Von even tried a 360 shuv to the down. Overall it was a wicked fun time.

With matt in florida i went up with a few of my friends who are just starting into the sport. Sand bars are starting to form every few hundred yards which made for some awesome skimboarding. i also met up and rode with a kid from Connecticut named shayen who will hopefully be in town for our competition august 1st. Here are a few pics.

On a side note i ordered a new board yesterday. Standard streamline with White foam and a purple logo and kyle even threw in a free tee for me. For anyone who doesnt know hes the man.

4th of July weekend at Southwick the windy was insane. The waves brought soo much water in to the creek that it was flooded and our skim spot was not that great. Riding the waves washing up was fun though. Couldn't exactly bring out any boxes. Just made a little edit to test out the new camcorder.

Matt just got a Sony Handycam HDR-CX100/B for graduation. The high quality video of this camcorder is really going to produce some sick videos. Crafted a handle on the camcorder for a more stable shot and a better angle. Look for a new video to be out somtime sunday or monday.

On a side note Tlyer just got 5 warts removed out of the heel of his foot. It looks absolutely disgusting. Arick also has some nasty looking wound on the side of one of his legs from dirt biking. Dunno if it's going to affect his riding. We'll see come July 4th.

Fun Day Up at Southwick

We went up to Southwick to skim after we finished our last test of the school year. Tyler got to ride his new streamline for the first time. He has improved soo much over three sessions. The first time we went up he couldn't even ride ten feet. Check the edit. Some bangers I guess. I'll post up some pictures but they aren't anything great.

Tyler O'Brien is just starting flatland skimboarding and is getting the hang of it really fast. He's a good friend of ours and he'll certainly be pumping out some nice ticks with some more practice of course. He recently order a DB Standard Streamline custom of course. After months of waiting we finally got out skimboarding. Middle of the city, puddle skimming in a park. With all the run off and rain we've been getting there were puddles everywhere,and perfect skimming. Got some fun stuff down nothing huge it was are first day out for the season and Arick is just coming off a double compound fracture in his arm, and wasn't supposed to do anything physical until april....all in all it was an awesome day look out for the edit...should be on soon.

New Spring Spot

So we've been meaning to get skimming for awhile now after seeing our friend Logan Davidson and others riding. Well walking down to the park for some random reason yesterday I came across these two amazing puddles.

The only issue is that the only person who has a board is Arick. Mine (Matt) is still up at my camp. But Arick is hopefully coming over tomorrow and we'll session these to amazing spots. Check back tomorrow to see some shots.

Just finished up two of the new boxes added some Pvc on and some dashboard logos for style.

We decided to get a head start on the up coming season by making some new boxes. In the past we have never really had any "legit" boxes. The only ones we had were just slabs of wood nailed together crooked that took 10 minutes to build and lasted for about the same amount of time, and any boxes we did make we made half way through the season so we got hardly any use out of them. The two boxes that we have made so are a flat one foot tall one foot wide box and a one foot wide flat with a kick starting at a foot and going to a foot and a half. All thats left now is pvc and stenciling.

Hey, this blog is dedicated to a small group of flatland skimboarders that live in New York. We skim at Southwick Beach on Lake Ontario. The flatland scene is extremely dead over here. Not many people even know what a skimboard is. We have been promoting the sport and have seen a few kids here and there skimming every now and then.

Our small group of riders consists of Matt Flood, Arick Hess, and Peter Flood.
